About Us

Over the past 30 years, the preschool has seen many committed families, who form the Management Committee, overseeing the long term future of the preschool.

Staffing at Bentley Community Preschool has been very consistent, with Lee-Anne Gibson working for over 30 years at the preschool. Our current Director Tracey Ezzy, has been here over a year, has a Bachelor of Education and experience teaching and directing in  community preschools for over 30 years. We are also lucky to have two regular casual Educators Jemima Latta, and Paola Maher, as well as our clerical administrator Susan Train.

Bentley Preschool is a small preschool, however; Educators continue to grow and research new ways of working with preschoolers and implementing best practices that fit with our ‘image of the child’ and philosophy, to the best of our abilities. This ensures that children and families receive the high quality education that we are so proud to offer.

Our outdoor program we are able to incorporate a bush preschool were we go on outdoor visits to our back paddock to collect bush lemons, explore the beautiful native trees and explore the natural environment and what it has to offer.

Bush preschools or just visiting the bush have many benefits :

  • Increased confidence, motivation and concentration, increased social, physical and language skills, deeper conceptual understandings and respect for the natural environment.
  • Increased social and imaginative play
  • More varied risk-taking behaviours and positive dispositions towards risk and challenge
